Relieve the property tax burden on homeowners by growing the City’s tax base through smart economic investment and development:
- Accelerate the implementation of Atlanta’s four commercial tax allocation districts (TADs) – a proven, national best practice for strategic economic development – to quickly restore and revitalize the City’s tax base within those declining areas and adjacent communities.
- Restore funding to the City’s small business loan programs to provide financial resources, along with additional technical and managerial assistance, to local entrepreneurs within the City’s targeted revitalization areas.
- Promote initiatives to attract or develop “clean” companies in such fast-growing industries as biotech and biosciences through partnerships with Georgia’s leading research and education institutions and such agencies as the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Central Atlanta Progress and the Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
